ICLOAK - online privacy and security

Prowling Dog values its freedom and privacy. There is too much personal data around and in the hands of various agencies. No data is truly secure - all it takes is a rogue employee at an agency to release your personal details to any buyer. It has happened. Every time you go online you are vulnerable, especially on public computers at cafes, airports and hotels.

There are many products out there promising total privacy and security; many fall short of their promises and some make unbelivable claims. There is always a trace. One of the best tools available is the Tor network, the system that routes you through multiple servers. It was developed in the 1990s by U.S. Naval Research Laboratory employees and in PD's opinion has not been bettered. The only problem with Tor was that you needed to be a computer geek to use it.

Until now. ICLOAK (icloak.org) was developed to bring Tor to everyone in one easy to use package. It was launched as a Kickstarter project (kickstarter.com), raising $100,603 of a $75,000 goal. ICLOAK is a USB stick with Tor software in an easy to launch format. The USB stick is tiny and comes nicely packaged in a tin.

Happy safe browsing.
