From the archive: Thoughts on lost love

PD continues the series on relationships from the original PD blog in 2012.

JULY 21st, 2012
I have posted three true stories of lost love, with different causes and outcomes. Sometimes one loses a loved one because of circumstance, and as the three stories bear witness, it is not always due to terminal illness. Even though losing a loved one is always difficult, if it is the result of circumstance, it can be understood and people can move on to a large degree and live fulfilling lives. If the people are lucky, they will find each other again, even if only briefly. The third story is the most tragic. Here hateful people deliberately turn a girl’s love for a boy into hate in order to separate the lovers through cruel psychological games, for no good reason. It is in these circumstances that people are destroyed, and that is unforgivable.
